my wonderful vacation in my life

I am a very lazy person, I did not travel a lot in the past. The wonderful vacation in my life is the travel in Victoria. It is true that Victoria is the most beautiful place I have seen in my life.

This May, I went to Victoria with Peggy and the other three friends. We had a such wonderful time in Victoria. At that time, Butchart Garden just opened and we were so lucky to visit Butchart Garden. In Butchart Garden, I was like in a fairyland on earth. I don't know how can I describe it. I suggest people who like to take pictures to go to Victoria.

Final Time

Now, it is the exactlly final time. I spend lots of time on doing my homework or reviewing books. Everyday, I went to bed so late because I have to do well in final exams. Sometimes, I was so hungry at night, so I'd like to eat some snacks; however, my host mum said I could not eat anything in the room, otherwise it would attract bugs. It was so hard for me because it was to tired to eat in the kitchen:(

Although it is the final time now, I would like to watch movie to relax myself. I watched "Harry Porter 7" and "monsters" last week. I never seen such boring movies. I don't suggest people to go to watch these two movies! They are too boring! I fell asleep in the movie theater. I hope there are some interesting movies during the Chirstmas vacation.

my plans for my Christmas Vacation and the new year

This winter, I'm not gonna go back to China. I prefer to spend time with my friends in Vancouver and I want to experience the different feeling of Chirstmas Vacation. I'm not really sure what I am going to do during the Chiristmas Vcation and the new year, but I want to go skiing and go hotspring in Whisler. I never tird skiing before. When I was in China, my friends called me to go skiing with them, but I was so scard about that. This year, I want to try something different. I should be brave!

For new year, I want to go to downtown with my friends to count for new year. Last year, I went to downtown and count with my friends. Many people were there and they sang, they dance, they chatted. Although it was really cold outside, we had lots of fun in downtown.

Also, I will go shopping in boxing day and hold some parties with my friends. Sometimes, I missed my friends a lot because I was so busy that I did not have enough time to hang out with them. As a result, I want to spend most of time with my friends for Chiristmas Vacation and the new year.

Surprise Birthday Party

Last week, it was my friend's birthday and my friend's boyfriend wanted to hold a surprise birthday party for her. First, her boy friend bought a T-shirt and let us to write down our wished to her. Second, her boyfriend asked almost 20 people to go to Guu Garden to attend her birthday party; however, she did not know anything about these. At that day, my friend's boyfriend just say he would take her to somewhere, and then they went to Guu Garden. Our 20 people went to there earlier than them, so when they arrived at there, my friend was so surprised and she almost cried! During the surprise birthday party, my friend's boyfriend showed the T-shirt for her and gave her the birthday cake. We did not even know that my friend's boyfriend put her photo on the cake!! my friend almost shocked for that!

After the dinner, the party was finished, but my friend was so affected. How sweet her boyfriend is!

cultural mysteries

Although I have been in Canada for more than 1 year, I still have some cultural mysteries. First, when I was in China, we always wear a lot in the winter. In winter, my city's temperature is as same as here; however, Canadian always just wear a little bit in winter. Last time when I went to white with my friend, we all wore coat and jeans; in contrast, Canadian wore T-shirt and short jeans. Don't they feel cold? Second, Canadian like to eat sweet food. In China, we couldn't eat lots of sweet food at one time because it's too heavy for us. When I have dinner with my host family, my host mum always eat lots of chocolate dessert and cheese cake together. Third, Canadian shoping mall or stores always close so early. In China, the night time is the high time. We'd like to go shopping after school or after work, poeple like to enjoy the night time in the shopping mall or stores. In Canada, it is opposite. Fourth, we do not need to leave tips when we finish dinner or take a taxi in China, but in Canada, tips are very important. Fifth, when I talk to Canadian, if they do not like something, they will say "no" directly, in China, we do not to say "no" directly. Chinese like to use a mild way to refuse others. Consequently, cultural mysteries are a very interesting thing for me.

Snow

Last week, Vancouver had the first snow. Actually, it was the second time for me to see the snow in Vancouver. The first time is last winter. Last year, it did not snow a lot in New Westminster.

When we took the first and second pictures, it was begining to snow. It was not very cold for me because in my hometown, Beijing, it always snow in the winter. I used to the snow winter.

Although I noticed that the day after snowing was quite cold, I would like hang out with my friends. In winter, hot pot and the spicy food are the best for me. I like one of the hot pot restaurant which called "top gun" in Crystal mall because it is yummy and convenient for us to go there. In winter, if you do not want to go far away, and you still want to have the hot pot, there is the best place.

I also like Sichuan food. It is spicy, always; however, it can make people really warm all over the body. Therefore, it is a good way for people to eat the spicy food to defend the cold weather.

I know lots of people do not like snow and winter, but we should learn how to enjoy the snow!

The Effect Coming to Canada Had on Me

I have been in Canada for more than one year. I have to say that Canada effects me a lot. The most obvious is the education. It is well known that Canadian education has a huge different from Asian education. In China, we do not need to talk a lot in class. We just need to listen to the teachers and we do not need to spend lots of time after class because we spend most of time in school. Unlike Chinese education, the Canadian education is more flexible. In Canada, I do not have to stay in school all the time because the class time is very short, but I need more time to review and prepare for the class for the next day. On the other hand, we can talk so much in the class in Canada. We do not need to listen to everything from the teacher. If we got confused in the class, we can argue with the teacher. Students are very initiative in class. In contrast, Chinese class is opposite. I couldn't say which is good or not; in my opinion, good things and bad things always hand in hand. For me, I used to Canadian education.
